When and where is the event?

TEDxØygarden 2025 will take place on Friday, 24 October 2025 at Straume kultursal, Foldnesvegen 1, 5353 Straume.

Doors open at 11:30, the program starts at 12:00, and the event runs until approximately 18:00. Then there is an afterparty for those who would like to join.

What is the theme?

Under overflaten (“Beneath the Surface”)
What happens when we dare to look beyond the obvious? This year’s theme invites you to explore what lies beneath: in nature, in society, and within ourselves.

Will the talks be in Norwegian or English?

All talks will be held in English, in line with the TEDx license guidelines and to ensure accessibility for international audiences.

What is TED / TEDx?

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to spreading ideas that inspire — through short, powerful talks that spark curiosity, learning, and change.

TEDx events are independently organized under license from TED, but share the same spirit:
a belief in the power of ideas to create a better world. The TED spirit is about curiosity, openness, and action — creating space for meaningful conversations and new perspectives that go beyond the stage.

TEDxØygarden is part of this global network, bringing together local voices with ideas that resonate far beyond our coastline.

Will the talks be recorded or published?

Yes — talks will be recorded, edited, and released on TEDx YouTube channel.

How long are the talks?

Each talk follows TEDx’s format — typically 8–18 minutes in length.

Will there be food and drinks?

Yes! Coffee, lunch and light refreshments will be available during breaks. After the program, there will be an afterparty, along with a relaxed atmosphere for mingling and conversation.

Can I transfer my ticket if I can’t attend?

Yes, tickets can be transferred to another person. However, refunds are not available after purchase.

Is the venue accessible?

Yes. Straume kultursal is fully wheelchair accessible, with elevators and accessible restrooms.

Will there be an afterparty?

Yes! After the final session, we invite you to stay for an informal afterparty, where you can buy a drink and attend a space to connect with speakers, organizers, and fellow attendees.
